Conca de Barberà

La Conca de Barberà is one of the most clearly defined counties of Catalonia from the geographical point of view, the oldest (since the fourteenth century the vegueria Montblanc already covered what is now primarily the area) Your name is used as the century XII; name which, curiously, not from the capital of the region, but a small town in this: Barberà de la Conca.
The scenic beauty of its valleys and its rich historical and cultural heritage are just two reasons to come and discover it.

Enjoy a Mediterranean climate with smooth transition between coastal and continental interior areas, marked by a remarkable range of temperatures between day and night, making it a privileged area for the cultivation of vines and wines and champagnes.

A mosaic of contrasting landscapes differentiated, on one hand the strict Conca (center and south of the region) surrounded by mountain slopes and drained by rivers Francolí and its tributary, the Anguera. Moreover, in the north of the region, we find the Baixa Segarra, is the southern highlands of the Segarra and presents a very different terrain. Finally the northeastern mountains of Prades (southwest of the region) with a mountain landscape, vast plains with woods and deep ravines.
